BILOXI, Miss. —  Residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast could clearly see a total eclipse of the Moon on Oct. 27. This photo was taken at 9:45 p.m. The brown and orange color happens when the last part of the moon enters the umbra, or shadow of the Earth, and a total eclipse begins. According to folklore, October's full moon is called the 'Hunter's Moon' or the 'Blood Moon.' The next umbral lunar eclipse will take place in March 2007.
