Courtesy of The University of Arkansas at Monticello debate and forensics team won six individual awards and placed second in the varsity division of the Ouachita Baptist University Debate Tournament held Sept. 24-25 in Arkadelphia. Individual winners included Chad Rogers, a sophomore from Bentonville, who placed second in varsity debate and was named the tournament’s third place individual speaker. Will Whiting, a senior from Monticello, reached the round of 16 in varsity debate, while Brian Rauls, a freshman from Bearden, reached the round of 16 and was named the third place individual speaker in the novice debate division. Scott Allison Richardson, a freshman from Crossett, received recognition as the outstanding judge for the tournament. Other UAM students taking part in the competition included Brandi Morgan, a junior from Crossett; Jennifer Adcock, a sophomore from Wilmar; Matt Baumgarten, a junior from Monticello; Charlotte Kieffner, a senior from Star City; and Bryce Wrzesinski, a senior from Lake Village.
