Ask Nancy
Bookstore needs variety

The other day I happen to overhear a student ask the bookstore clerk if they sold magazines. I had never thought about it but that would be a great idea if the UAM Bookstore added this to the inventory! The only place students can purchase magazines is Wal-Mart. I can see myself buying a People magazine or a cross-word puzzle book.

This started me thinking about all the other items they could add, such as fountain drinks with ice and healthy snacks like apples. It would be nice to have a place to sit down and have your snack.

It would also be nice for those living on campus to run to the bookstore instead of driving up town to pick up something to snack on. Some students on campus do not have transportation, so this would really help them out.

They also need to stay open longer for students on campus after 4:30 p.m. and for night classes. It is a hassle to bring your own drink or snack to class at night when we could take a stroll over the bookstore and pick up something nice and cold to drink.
