Brandon Hawkins Sports Editor The University of Arkansas-Monticello Cotton Blossoms rolled past the Christian Brothers University Lady Buccaneers Feb. 10 by a score of 68-58 and to a record of 13-10 (7-5 GSC). The Blossoms came out firing in the first half as they jumped to an early lead with the help of an 11-to-4 run. The Lady Bucs fought hard but just could not quite catch up at the half only shooting 9-of-31 from the floor and 0-of-7 from the three-point line. The Blossoms shot 13-of-29 from the floor and 5-of-11 from three-point range. In the second half the Blossoms came out much like they did in the first half, but then Wendy Young and Ashley May get into some early foul trouble each with four fouls. The Lady Bucs capitalized and went on an 11-to-2 run to cut the Blossoms’ lead to one with 5:18 left to play. However that is as close as the Lady Bucs could get.
