Pam Gouner, RN, M.Ed., MSN, Assistant Professor,
Interim Chair
Mrs. Gouner, a native of South Louisiana, was born in New Orleans and raised in Thibodaux. She received her BSN from Louisiana State University School of Nursing in New Orleans. She has traveled extensively and worked in different parts of the United States and Germany. Mrs. Gouner holds two (2) masters degrees - A Masters of Education in Wellness and Health Promotion from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. and an MSN from the University of Phoenix Online with a focus in Nursing Education. She also holds a teaching certificate in Middle School Education in the areas of Math and Science. Her clinical area at UAM is Medical/Surgical nursing and she coordinates a course in Healthy Aging. Her spare time is dedicated to her family.

Charlotte Taylor, RN, MSN, Associate
Professor
Mrs. Taylor’s graduate work is in Psychiatric
Mental Health Nursing with a MSN from Northwestern State University in
Louisiana. Her clinical and lecture focus is with Senior students. She
has served on the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and has held many leadership
roles with the Arkansas State Nurses Association including State President.

Sharon Walters, RN, MSN, Associate Professor
Mrs. Walters is a native of Southeast Arkansas. Her academic preparation includes a BSN from UAM in 1994. She
earned a Master of Science degree in Adult Health Nursing from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi in 1998. Mrs. Walters is a skilled
clinician who began her career in nursing as an LPN in 1984. She is ACLS certified and continues to work as an emergency room nurse in a
local hospital.

Anita Shaw, RN, MSN, Associate Professor
A lifelong resident of Southeast Arkansas,
Ms. Shaw resides in Warren. She earned her Associate Degree in nursing from UAM
in 1981. She completed her BSN at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
in 1992 and graduated with an MSN from the University of Central Arkansas in
1994. She has worked in the clinical setting as an emergency room nurse.
She says that educating the future nurses is her passion.

Christine Ruff, RN, MSN, Assistant Professor
Miss Christine Ruff's graduate work is in Women's Health Nursing with a Master of Science degree from Texas Woman's University. She also holds a certificate as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Miss Ruff's clinical and lecture focus includes obstetric and gynecologic nursing with senior students. She is a member of the National Organization of Women's Health Nurse Practitioners, the National League for Nursing, and she continues clinical practice in neonatal intensive care nursing.
James Crow, RN, BSN, Instructor
of Nursing
Mr. Crow is a native of Southeast Arkansas. He earned his BSN from Pacific Union College in Angwin California in 1991. He received his Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas-Monticello in 1987, where he graduated alpha chi, cum laude. Mr. Crow was admitted as an honors member into the Nightingale society in 1991 upon completion of his BSN work. His clinical background is in emergency nursing and he is currently working on his MSN at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock, Arkansas.
Leia O'Fallon, RN, MSN, Assistant Professor
Mrs. O'Fallon's graduate work is in Women's Health. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with her MSN degree in December 2000. She enjoys working as an educator in the School of Nursing.
Belinda Wells, B.S., BSN, RN, Instructor
After
completing a BS in Education degree at UAM, Mrs. Wells taught public school for
ten years. Having completed her BSN degree at UAM, she is presently teaching in
the School of Nursing and is also pursuing a masters degree in nursing from
UAMS. Additionally, Mrs. Wells is employed part time on a hospital telemetry
unit. Mrs. Wells is certified in ACLS, NALS, PALS, and is a BLS instructor as
well.
