UAM will kick
off the spring semester with educational and awareness
activities designed to make students aware of the importance of
making healthy decisions.
National Alcohol
Screening Day
UAM will be hosting National Alcohol Screening Day. National
Alcohol Screening Day is an annual event that provides
information about alcohol and health as well as free, anonymous
screening for alcohol-use disorders. It will be held in the
University Center Green Room.
Special Olympics
Relay for
Life
Relay for Life will be held at
UAM.
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to
celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and
programs of the American Cancer Society. During the event,
teams of people gather at the UAM football field and take
turns walking or running laps around the track. Each team
tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all
times.
National Student-Athlete
Day
SAAC will be hosting UAM’s
National Student-Athlete Day at the home of the chancellor, Dr.
Jack Lassiter. National Student-Athlete Day has been
recognizing outstanding Student-Athletes since 1987 and been
growing and expanding ever since. This day is also used as
a time to acknowledge and honor the parents, teachers, coaches,
administrators and community members who have made it possible
for the student-athletes to succeed not only in athletic
endeavors but in all realms of their lives. |
