Information about Sigma Zeta

Sigma Zeta (ΣΖ) was founded in Shertleff College in Alton, Illinois in1925 through the efforts of three members of the science staff who were young and imbued with the ideas of sound scholarship.

Sigma Zeta has grown to include more than forty local chapters in colleges and universities across the United States.  The strength of the organization resides in the activity of these local chapters and their dedicated faculty sponsors.

Sigma Zeta encourages and fosters the attainment of greater knowledge in the fields of science and mathematics.  It recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement in these fields through active, graduate and honorary memberships.
