RE: Spring 2008 Regional Science Fair
Dear Fair Directors,
The Southeast Arkansas Regional Science and Engineering Fair will be held Thursday, March 13th in the Gibson Center Gym on the campus of UAM. Enclosed are copies of the entry forms.
If you haven’t checked the International Fair website recently, please go to their site (http://www.sciserv.org/isef/index.asp) and view the updated rules and regulations. All the necessary forms your students will need are available online. Please read the rules carefully, and make sure all the forms are filled out, signed and dated. The approval date on the form must precede the start date of the experimentation.
*Please note that the project categories have changed since 2007. See a description of the new categories here.
Please remember that the regional Scientific Review Committee (SRC) must approve your winner's projects before competition in the Regional Science Fair. As soon as possible after your local fair, send me the following:
1. Completed UAM entry forms.
2. Copies of all necessary ISEF forms: go here for forms. These are interactive, which means your students can type on the form online and print it out.
3. A copy of the abstract for each project to be entered.
Each school is allowed a maximum of 3 entries per category.
A $20.00 regional affiliation fee is required for each school district that participates in the Southeast Arkansas Regional Science Fair. The district affiliation fee and an estimate of the number of entries from that district is due January 31, 2008. Please make the check payable to: UAM Regional Science Fair.
The project entry fee is $5.00 per individual or team project. Please make the check payable to: UAM Regional Science Fair. The entry deadline for these forms is Wednesday, February 20th. If your fair is scheduled for this date, entries need to be FAXed or hand delivered by Monday, the 25th. A $3.00 late fee will be charged on each projects turned in after this date. No entries will be accepted after 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 27th.
