Oct 27 BONUS - 10 points
Here's an interesting journal account about an earthquake, a volcano and a tsunami that occurred along the coast of Chile in 1835. It was written by Charles Darwin during his voyage around the world. Go to the following link, and then select chapter 14.
http://www.literature.org/authors/darwin-charles/the-voyage-of-the-beagle/
If you don't feel like reading the whole chapter, then scroll down to the date February 20th and start there. Write a summary (around 200 words) of his experiences and observations, and email it to me: edson@uamont.edu

Oct 29 Your next 10 point assignment is to go online to the following weblink: http://www.sciencecourseware.com/virtualearthquake/ Do not do the NEW and revised version. For 10 points each, write one multiple choice question from the material that we will cover in chapter 15 (pg. 396-407), and one multiple choice question from the material that we will cover in chapter 16 (pg. 448-450) 5th edition textbook.

Both of the questions are to be of your own creation. Each question needs to have four possible answers. Do not use "all of the above" or "none of the above" as possible answers. Label the correct answer with an asterisk (*).

Use this format.
1. Question ...................
    A. answer 1
    B. answer 2
*C. answer 3 (this would be the correct answer)
    D. answer 4

The questions MUST be in the format above or you will not receive credit. Email the questions to me.

There is a mistake in the answers for question 4. The "D. early Paleozoic" answer should read "early Precambrian", and match with the "origin of the Earth".
