Hornadays Endow CIS Scholarship

Virtual Internship Assessment Reports Strategic Plans

The University of Arkansas at Monticello Office of Advancement announced the establishment of the Dan and Charlotte Hornaday Endowed Scholarship Fund to benefit Computer Information Systems Majors on December 14, 2006.

The Hornadays are both UAM graduates. After graduation, Mr. Hornaday started working for Exxon in Houston, Texas. He remained with Exxon until his retirement. Exxon provided matching funds for the scholarship. The Hornadays presently reside in Little Rock, Arkansas.

"Dan and Charlotte Hornaday are very special people who have chosen to create a lasting legacy at this institution," said UAM Chancellor Jack Lassiter. "Their generosity and continuing support of UAM are extremely gratifying."

The Hornadays established their first endowed scholarship in 1992. The CIS scholarship becomes the seventh endowment they have established at UAM. Dan Hornaday graduated from UAM (then Arkansas A&M College) in 1951. Charlotte Hornaday received her degree in 1952. "The Hornadays both came from humble beginnings, they both worked hard to build successful careers and lives, but they’ve never forgotten where they came from," said Lassiter. "Their legacy of creating educational opportunities will extend far beyond our lifetimes."
