UAM Wins 2010 CIS Programming Competition |

The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s School of Computer Information Systems took first and second place in the CIS division at the 2010 Arkansas Collegiate Programming Competition, sponsored by Acxiom’s TresNet division. The team of Freddie Gibson, Jay Dyson and Justin Walker won first place and the team of Calvin Davis, Kyle Knight and Jake Hayden took second place in the COBOL programming competition. Both teams completed five of the seven problems, with time completed being the deciding factor, both teams were coached by Professor Lori Selby. The competition was held at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas, on April 9th. The competition is split into two sections, Computer Information Systems and Computer Science. Students competing in the CIS section may choose to program in COBOL, Java, or C++. Congratulations to both teams on a job well done!
