The Computer Information Systems program at the University of Arkansas at Monticello would be delighted to hear from our graduates and others who support our program and its educational goals.
The Computer Information Systems program was moved to it's own academic unit, the Division of Computer Information Systems, in August 1999. As a new academic unit at UAM, our students, faculty, and staff have many needs. These needs come at a time of continually increasing enrollments and shrinking state and federal support.
We have received three endowed scholarships and one endowed fund, thanks to the generosity of William and Katie Austin; Dan and Charlotte Hornaday; and Dr, James Roiger to honor his parents, Raymond and Loretta Roiger and his favorite uncle and aunt, Edward and Veronica Groebner. We also have a General CIS Scholarship Fund account established with the UAM Foundation.
Donations to this fund allows you to provide financial support for our students and our program. To recognize a contribution of at least $100.00 to the General Scholarship account, we will provide you with a lapel pin to signal your support.
- Program graduates will receive the CIS Alumnus pin for your first contribution of $100.00 to the CIS General Scholarship fund.
- Program Graduates who were Chi Iota Sigma club members may request the Chi Iota Sigma pin or the CIS Alumnus Pin for your first contribution of $100.00 to the fund and recieve the second lapel pin with a subsequent donation of $100.00.
- Friends who contribute $100.00 to the fund will receive the CIS Donor pin for your first contribution.
- Alumni and CIS Club members who make subsequent contributions of at least $100.00 will also receive a CIS Donor pin.
Check to see if your employer will provide matching funds for scholarship donations. Many employers will match your donation.
The contributions to the CIS General Scholarship Fund are used to provide one-time awards to our best and brightest students.
The UAM Foundation now has an Online Pledge Form that will allow you make contributions to UAM and to the School of CIS. If you want to designate your donation for the CIS General Scholarship Fund or the CIS General Fund, state so by selecting "School of Computer Information Systems" on the drop-down menu of "please Designate My Gift to" section on the form. Don't forget to find out if your employer has a matching fund program for educational contributions (many employers do).
Please include The University of Arkansas at Monticello and the School of Computer Information Systems among your charitable contributions.
If you would like to help the School and the program but are not sure what to do, don't hesitate to contact the School Dean, Mr. Brian Hairston (Hairstonb@uamont.edu).
