Along with Director of Athletics Alvy
Early, Jim Brewer is one of the few UAM employees who
can truly be called a veteran.
Brewer came onto
the UAM scene in 1978, being appointed the school’s
director of information.
Brewer
rejunvenated the publication world for UAM with his
first production, the 1979 UAM Football Media Guide that
since has been followed by nearly 200 publications, not
to mention the countless number of football game-day
programs.
Since then,
Brewer, along with several other staff members, has
given the UAM Media Services Department a reputation as
one of the best publication units in the conference.
Brewer already
handled all publications and releases for the university
as director of information, but in February of 1985, he
was promoted to the school’s Director of Media Services.
Brewer’s job
description includes the publication of the quarterly
UAM Magazine, composing news and feature articles for
all of UAM’s press needs, being the chief photographer
for UAM and UAM Athletics, along with several other
duties that promote the institution.
He and his wife
Susan have two children. Doug is attending the
University of Arkansas and Lauren is a senior at
Monticello High School.
A native of
Rogers, Ark., Brewer is a 1977 graduate of the
University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
