MONTICELLO – University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball coach Carlos James has announced the arrival of 14 newcomers to the team for the 2010 season.
 
“With the 09-10 class, we have continued to build and bring in quality student-athletes that are champions on and off the field, enabling UAM baseball to forge its way to the top of the most competitive conference in Division II,” said James, who enters his second full year with the program. “Particularly, we addressed our need to add good, young arms that will not only provide more depth, but also a solid foundation on the mound for the next few years. As well, we continued to bring in athletic and baseball savvy position players that will provide depth and push for playing time as the 2010 season approaches.”
 
The group, including players from Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee and Texas, consists of seven pitchers, two outfielders, one infielder and four multi-position players.
