RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.

The
University of Arkansas at Monticello
softball team picked up a pair of 10-1
wins on its opening day against
Southwest Baptist and Lincoln in
Arkansas Tech's 2nd Annual Spring Slam
Tournament.
In the win over Southwest Baptist,
freshman Kayla Jackson (Hallsville,
Texas) picked up the win after throwing
a complete-game, allowing only one run
in the fifth and final inning.
Freshman left-hander Randa Perry
(Collierville, Tenn.) also turned in a
complete-game effort, recording the win
for UAM in the team's win over Lincoln.
The Blossoms (2-0) continue play in the
ATU tournament Saturday with a 10 a.m.
contest against Missouri-St. Louis and a
2 p.m. re-match with Southwest Baptist.
