MONTICELLO  – University of Arkansas at Monticello softball coach Alvy Early has announced the dates of the upcoming 2009 summer softball camps.
 
Early and staff will conduct the 14th annual “Camp of Champions” on July 7-9 at Blossoms Field on the UAM campus.
 
“Camp of Champions” is a three-day event for girls ages 6-18 that is intended to improve each player’s individual skills. Each camper will receive individual instruction in all phases of the game.
 
Just over a week later, UAM will host a team camp for high school teams or high school age travel teams.
 
The team camp features a two-day event on July 14-15, where teams from Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi will play a minimum of two games per day. All games will last seven innings and will be officiated by certified umpires.
 
“Camp of Champions” is $75 per camper, and the team camp is $250 per team.
