In his first game at the
University of Arkansas at
Monticello, junior DeAngelo
McIntosh scored 25 points and
recorded 13 rebounds to lead his
team to a 94-65 victory over
Crowley’s Ridge College in the
2009-10 season opener.
McIntosh connected on 12-of-20
attempts from the field (60
percent) and hit 1-of-2 from
three-point range to lead all
players in the game.
UAM (1-0) also had three other
players reach double-figures in
the win over CRC (3-4).
Following McIntosh was sophomore
Hamid Ford with 17 points,
junior Jarrell Turner with 14
and sophomore Jeremy LaGarde
with 11.
As a team, the Boll Weevils shot
57.7 percent from the field
(41-of-71), 34.8 percent from
three-point range (8-of-23) and
28.6 percent from the charity
stripe (4-of-14.)
The Pioneers struggled all night
and finished the game shooting
just over 34 percent from the
field (25-of-73), 25 percent
from three-point range (6-of-24)
and 53 percent from the
free-throw line (9-of-17). Their
leading scorer was Chad Turner
with 15 points. Quentin Franks
and Justin Duke also reached
double-figures with 13 and 10
points, respectively.

Wednesday, November 18 against
Wichita State in Wichita, Kan.
Opening tip-off is set for 7
p.m. at the Charles Koch Arena.
