RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech University had 446 passing yards and 519 yards of total offense in a 59-14 win over the University of Arkansas at Monticello football team Saturday night at Thone Stadium.

Tech (3-1, 1-1 GSC) was led by senior quarterback Nick Graziano, who completed 33 of 49 passes for 403 yards with five touchdown passes. Graziano also carried the ball seven times for 21 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put Tech up 42-7.

Graziano hooked up with senior receiver Frantz Simeon 10 times for 165 yards, including two touchdown tosses. Simeon also had two punt returns for 61 yards and two kickoff returns for 81 yards.

UAM (1-4, 0-2 GSC) was led by junior quarterback Scott Buisson, who completed 15 of 35 passes for 264 yards with two interceptions and highlighted the rushing stats with 12 carries for 106 yards with UAM’s only two touchdowns of the game. Buisson’s first touchdown run came with a 31-yard scamper in the second quarter to make the score 21-7 in favor of the Wonder Boys. Buisson turned in his second rushing score with a 44-yard run in the fourth quarter to make the score 49-14.

Buisson’s rushing total marked the first time a UAM ball carrier reached the century mark since Buisson had 165 rushing yards in the 2008 loss to North Alabama. His first rushing touchdown of the game was the first for the Boll Weevils in the 2009 season.

Buisson’s favorite target was junior Jywin Ceaser, who had five catches for 99 yards. Junior Joseph Lockwood had three catches for 88 yards.

UAM continues Gulf South Conference play next Saturday, October 3 at home against Ouachita Baptist. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Convoy Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium.
