Dr. Kelly J. Bryant
UAM School of Agriculture Chair
Director of the Southeast Research & Extension Center
In the School of Agriculture we strive
to educate our students in such a way that they can compete
within, and contribute to, the agriculture industry. This
requires knowledge and training in science and business.
Most of the classes our students take are agriculture classes
taught by our faculty in Animal Science, Plant and Soil Science
or Agri Business. The School of Agriculture is well
known for providing a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for
pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. Students who put in the time
and effort required to master the material leave here with the
knowledge and skills they need to follow their dreams.
The field of agriculture is changing fast and adjustments are
happening quickly. Still, the world’s population is
growing and people must eat. It is our contention that the
United States and Arkansas will continue to be an important part
of feeding the world for many years to come, but no doubt
agriculture will look different
in the future than it does today. While most of our
graduates pursue careers or graduate school in an agricultural
field, some choose to take jobs outside of agriculture.
Our students are also well prepared for many business and
technology careers not normally associated with production
agriculture.

we do.
