AAS - General Technology |

The Associate of Applied Science
degree in General Technology, the AAS-GT, is available
from the College of Technology at Crossett and the
College of Technology at McGehee. General Education
courses can also be completed on the Monticello campus. There are two options for pursuing the AAS-GT: GENERAL TECHNOLOGY—Option One Students seeking the Associate of Applied Science Degree
in General Technology must complete all requirements for
a technical certificate in one of the following programs
of study:
Students must also complete the
required 15 hours of general education courses (below)
plus additional elective hours (either technical or
general education courses) for a total of 60 credit
hours. Required General Education Courses: 15 hours

All of the general
education courses, with the exception of MATH 0183, may
be applied toward a baccalaureate degree at UAM or
transferred to another university. GENERAL TECHNOLOGY—Option
Two Students seeking the Associate of
Applied Science in General Technology Degree must
complete 24 hours in a major technical area and 21 hours
in technical core support courses from other related
technical disciplines and 15 hours of required general
education courses. With the approval of the academic
advisor or unit head and the Vice Chancellor of Academic
Affairs, the student may select courses from one or more
technical disciplines and develop a coherent technical
program that prepares the student for employment in
occupational and technical fields. Major Technical Area: 24
